Regular shaving and waxing can lead to ingrown hairs, irritation, razor bumps and darker-looking skin over time, especially on the underarms and legs. Facial hair on the upper lip, chin or jawline can also affect confidence, and repeated plucking or threading is time-consuming and can irritate sensitive facial skin.
Clients come to DIVA looking for a longer-term way to reduce regrowth across one or more areas, rather than continuing a daily or weekly routine of shaving, waxing or threading.
Before treatment, we assess your skin tone, hair colour and thickness, the area(s) you want treated, skin sensitivity, and any relevant medical history — including pregnancy, active skin conditions, recent sun exposure or tanning, and use of photosensitising medication.
Facial areas are treated with extra care given the skin there is generally more sensitive. Suitability and the recommended plan are confirmed after this assessment — laser hair removal is not automatically suitable for every hair type, skin tone or medical situation, and we will tell you honestly if it may not be the right option for you.
The general direction is laser-based hair reduction, using settings and pacing suited to the treatment area, hair type and skin tone assessed at consultation. The goal over a course of sessions is visibly less regrowth and finer, sparser hair in the treated area — not a single-session result.
This is explained as a general treatment direction, not a fixed protocol. Facial areas, underarms and larger body areas (arms, legs, full body) may be paced or combined differently depending on your assessment and comfort.

Laser hair removal is a course of multiple sessions spaced a few weeks apart, not a single visit. The exact number depends on the area, hair thickness and colour, and how your skin responds, and is discussed during consultation.
Downtime is generally minimal. Mild redness or warmth in the treated area right after the session is common and usually settles within a day. Facial areas may feel slightly more sensitive for a short time.
Avoid sun exposure and use SPF on treated areas, avoid hot showers, saunas or intense exercise for the rest of the day, and moisturise gently. Between sessions, only shave — do not wax, pluck or use hair-removal cream, as this can affect the treatment. Avoid perfumed products on freshly treated underarm skin.
Laser hair removal is generally not recommended during pregnancy, on sunburned or recently tanned skin, over active infection or broken skin, or for certain medical conditions and medications — please tell us during consultation. Temporary redness or sensitivity can occur, and rarely, temporary changes in skin colour in the treated area. Results and hair reduction can vary depending on hair colour, thickness and individual response — very light, grey or white hair may respond less predictably. Results vary by individual condition, number of sessions and aftercare, and we do not promise permanent, complete hair removal for every client.

We do not promise permanent, complete hair removal. Most clients see visibly less and finer regrowth over a course of sessions, but results vary by individual hair type, area and aftercare.

Yes, shaving is fine between sessions. Please avoid waxing, plucking or hair-removal cream, as these remove the hair root that the laser needs to target.
