Acne is treated as a course rather than a single session. The number of visits and interval between them depends on your acne severity, skin response and how consistently homecare is followed, and is discussed during consultation.
Downtime depends on the method used. A chemical/acne peel may cause mild flaking for around 3–7 days. LED and extraction typically involve little to no downtime, though the skin may look slightly pink for a short while after extraction.
Do not pick or peel flaking skin. Keep the area moisturised, use SPF daily, and avoid excessive heat or sweating for a few days after a peel or extraction. Follow the simplified homecare routine we recommend rather than layering extra products on top.
Peels and extractions are not recommended on broken skin, active infection, sunburn or very irritated acne — please tell us if this applies to you. Temporary redness, sensitivity or mild breakout "purging" can occur after some treatments. Results and speed of improvement vary by individual condition, consistency of homecare and number of sessions — we do not guarantee acne will not return, especially if underlying triggers are not addressed.
